CURSED BY DESTINTY Blurb:

Celia Wird and her three sisters are just like other 20-something girls—with one tiny exception: they're products of a backfired curse that has given each of them unique powers that make them, well, weird…

Celia’s a girl in trouble. Her heart is bound to Aric, but he is a pureblood were who must deny her or risk condemning his species to extinction. And that’s just her love life. She’s also been called to take down a group of demon terrorists looking to overthrow the paranormal world. (No pressure.)

In order to bring them down, Celia must ally herself to Misha, the master vampire who has made no secret of his desire for her.

And if that weren’t enough misfortune for one girl, a clairvoyant’s prediction could destroy Celia and Aric’s love for good. The only way to protect the world from unbridled supernatural terrorism is for Celia to bind herself to her destined mate. And that doesn’t appear to be Aric…

Me begging for more Weird Girls...

This series is one of my favorite and I was so excited (as usual) to read what will happen to Celia and her sisters. I was so happy when Cecy Robson offered me the chance to read and review the third book: Cursed by Destiny. I really enjoy her creation: the storyline, the characters, the humor, the intensity, the world filled up with paranormal being non-stop action and stimulating situations. Action is always in the game and surprises are waiting at every corner! There's a lot of thing to be excited about in this third book!!!

The author never let me down; I'm always on the edge with Celia and her love situation. Stuck between one man she love but can't have and one man she doesn't want to be with who will do everything to win her heart. The three of them will have to deal with Destiny in this tome. I was greatly surprised by the turn of events but nothing seems easy with these three characters.

Celia is a very charming character, warm, attractive and living complex and difficult moment. From the first book, I quickly identified and attached myself to the heroine. She wants the good of all even if it means to be neglected. In addition to living with a curse, she must constantly fight for survival, the protection of her sisters and even her lover. Enemies come from all sides, but she's always ready to fight and protect those she loves. I see her as a perfect example of the proud woman, mature and reasonable with a little plus: super powers/abilities!

Her immediate entourage is not the most normal: Misha, the vampire master of Lake Tahoe is very attracted and protective of Celia, causing several funny and sensual twists. I love the humor I found in this series and it adds a lot to the dark side of this story. I'm also a big fan of vampire and although I love Aric character, I always hope to read about a turn of event between Misha and Celia!

Me thinking about Celia and Misha...

Aric is also a very intense, sexy and typical alpha male character. I love this feature from most supernatural creature, but I always had the impression that the shifters were more intense on this level. It seems that Aric is Celia's mate but their lives will be completely messed up because of their statue. Since Celia is not a pureblood, their relationship is almost doomed to failure. In addition, the Council requires Aric to marry a pureblood to continue the lineage.

Celia, as always, need to juggle between her family life , love life, preparation for battle, the insistent expectations from Misha and many new enemy. The bad guys are bad to the bone and they want something from Celia, which put her and her family in dangerous situation almost every time. I really liked all the commotion it provokes even for Misha who will be saved in extremis! Celia will have to be make agonizing choices through the book. Several emotions will touch the reader and the author Cecy Robson isn't doing it with a dead hand! I even wonder how it all will end. It seems that nothing is going in the right direction for Celia and her sisters. The open ending was almost critical, I don't know where the author is going with this one, but it will be harsh in the next tome for the main characters.

If you are eager to discover a new Urban Fantasy/Paranormal Romance series, with strong characters that will get a hold on your heart, The Weird Girls Novels are for you!

This series is a must-try: if you already have read the two first books, this one should be on your next-to-buy and next-to-read list!!!

  1. Awesome review! I'm a fan too. I LOVE the Weird Girls! I’m trying , although it’s difficult, not to pick sides too quickly when it comes to Aric and Misha. The sisters are great individual characters and as a team they’re just AWESOME. It seems like they just can’t catch a break, especially Celia. But, later for prophesied destiny. These girls can write their own.

  2. I'm a fan of the were-especially a certain werewolf!! As much as I hate what Aric did to Celia, I believe he honestly loves her and is heartbroken about what he had to do to her...that said, I'm really hoping for an HEA!!! (Though I am kind of intrigued about a certain werelion I keep seeing references to in various reviews...) :)
